Zion Lutheran Free Church was organized July 20, 1888. Zion Church was built in 1903. Up to that time services were held in schoolhouses or at the homes.
The first pastor was Rev. Henry Langeland. Other pastors were Rev. Elias Nielson, Rev. L. M. Halling, Rev. E. S. Solheim, Rev. Clarence Framstad and at the present time Rev. Donald Ronning who has been the pastor since 1944. Zion Church celebrated their sixth anniversary on July 11, 1948.

Harry Molstre, Rev. Robert L. Lee, Rev, Curtis Emerson, and at the present time Rev. Terry Olson. Zion Free Lutheran Church celebrated its 60th, 80th, 90th and 95th anniversaries.
The church still serves and stands as a monument to the days when the church and school were centers of the community.
100 years of God's Grace celebrated July 9 & 10, 1988
