The early homesteaders zealous for their spiritual welfare organized the Wilmington Lutheran Church after services held at the P.A. Stenehjem home January 1, 1907. On June 9, 1907, the Wilmington Ladies Aid was organized at the Hans Braaten home.
The Log Church was erected in 1908 on land belonging to I.K. Olson. Rev. M.L. Holey served as pastor until 1914.
The basement of the church in Arnegard was built in 1914.
The main edifice was constructed in 1928, dedicated in 1931 and fully completed and rededicated in 1952.
