Trinity Lutheran Church Crookston, Minnesota
On January 8, 1937, four Lutheran congregations in Crookston, Minnesota united to form Trinity Lutheran Church. These four were: The United Norwegian Lutheran Church which was organized in 1874; First English Lutheran Church organized in 1914; Hauge's Minde Church organized in 1889; and Swedish Emmanual Lutheran Church organized in 1886. The last two were inactive at the time of the merger. Trinity Lutheran Church was dedicated June 4, 1950.
The senior pastors who have served Trinity Lutheran are the Rev. Abner S. Haugen, installed Feb. 28, 1937; the Rev. J. David Larsen, installed March 4, 1951; the Rev. Ralph Tellefsen, installed Aug. 18, 1957; The present pastors are the Rev. James Hanson, installed Feb. 11, 1968, and the Rev. Walter Otto III, installed June 4, 1972.
