St. Martin's Catholic Church was originally a mission church, established in 1887. As more people came into the area it became necessary to build a larger place of worship, so the present large, beautiful brick structure was erected in 1916. The older building, minus its steeple and windows is now being used as a granary on a farm west of Geneseo.
