Sherwood English Lutheran congregation was organized in 1906. A permanent edifice—the present one—was purchased in 1916. The first basement was constructed in 1923, and a new one was completed in 1949. The interior of the sanctuary has been remodeled and new white chancel furniture added since 1948. Active auxiliary organizations are the Ladies Aid, Lutheran Daughters of the Reformation, Junior and Senior Luther Leagues, Sunday School, and Church Choir.
