The congregation disbanded and in 1963 the church was sold. It is now the Valley Free Church in Portland.
Presbyterian Church
In 1908, when the Bristols, there were no English services held in town. Mrs. Bristol started a Sunday School using English in the old Town Hall. Sometimes ministers can and held services there too. for those who preferred English.
In 1915, they held a series of meetings and organized the Presbyterian Church. Among the first members were Mr. and Mrs. Bristol, Marian and Margaret; Mrs. Elgar Cox, Gordon, Myron and Vernon; Mrs. Seburn Cox, Vernie and Vivian; The Van Duyn family and Charles Elston. Seburn and Elgar Cox were quakers and did not join any other church.
The Presbyterian started building their church in 1926. It was completed in 1927. Rev. Black was the first minister to serve this church.
Vivian and Millard Eide were the first couple married.
