Peace Evangelical & Reformed Church
New Salem, North Dakota
Peace Church, as well as New Salem, came into being through the colonization program of the Evangelical Synod. The first settlers arrived April 6, 1883. On June 20th Peace Church was organized and later that summer the "Little Church" was built. In 1898 the second house of worship, known as the "Big Church" was built, Rev. A. Schoenhuth, Pastor. The present edifice was built during the pastorate of Rev. E. O. Mueller and was dedicated on Nov. 5, 1950.
