Ox Creek Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Congregation was organized June 16, 1889. Worship services were held in homes and schoolhouses with pastors coming from distances. Rev. K.O. Raftsholt arrived as our first pastor August 14, 1897.
April 9, 1905, Congregation decided to build a church and rapid growth since made it necessary to build a new basement which was begun June 13, 1949, and the church was moved onto it October 27, 1949.
The 65th Anniversary of the Ox Creek Lutheran Church was held June 20, 1954, with Rev. Arland Fiske, pastor.

Ox Creek is a member congregation of the Eastern North Dakota Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
