The first meeting of the Ottawa Church was held at the Thor Olson home on Feb. 1, 1885. On March 3rd, the constitution was accepted. A number of families joined the congregation on April 8, 1885. The first officers were H. Koloen, A. P. Rusten, & A.H. Berg as decons, John K. Olson, Ole 01 Groff, & Nels Torgerson as trustees. Rev. 0.K. Quamme came as pastor on May 13, 1888. A new church was built in 1903. Rev. V.E. Boe served as pastor until 1906 when Rev. J.M. Jenson was in-stalled. In 1912 Rev. T. E. Sweger came as pastor. On June 14, 1914, the church was dedicated. Rev. V.E. Boe performed the ceremony. Pastors from then on were Rev. O.J. Overbo, Rev. E.O. Lee, Wm. J. Madson, Carl Holm, Ralph Johnshoy, L. Vanderpan, A.T. Midskog, Rev. Hans T. Floan is the present pastor.
LENORA HOMEMAKERS CLUB On March 7, 1942, a group of ladies met with the county agent, Geo. Simons at the Huso school house & organized the Lenora Homemakers Club. Seventeen members joined. They were Misses Henry Rusten, Hans Lund, Ed Haugo, Jens Siem, T.J. Huso, A.T. Huso, Marcus Long, Mary Torgerson, Odin Westman, John Larson, O.J. Huso, Andrew Brudvig, & Thelmer Egeland. The club was to meet on the 2nd Fri. of every month, which they still do. At the present time there are seventeen members.
