​Hurdsfield Lutheran Church originally known as Evanger Lutheran Church, was incorporated on Dec. 20, 1908, under the pastorate of Rev. C. J. Quill. Pastor S. K. Thollehaug of Bowdon began the Hurdsfield congregation as a preaching station holding the first service on Dec. 12, 1904. On June 13, 1906, a Ladies Aid was organized. Pastor Thollefaug's last service was held June 24, 1907. Pastors who have served the Hurdsfield Lutheran congregation since the date of organization are C. J. Quill, 1907-09; J. G. Rugland, A. N. Fimmeland, J. P. Leland, P. A. Hendrickson from 1909-22; E. E. Eidbo 1922-42; G. W. Mathre 1942-45; Erling Aarthun 1945-50; C. S. Michelsen 1950-51; V. T. Tweedt 1951-54; M. E. Arneson 1955-56; W. E. Kienberger 1957-62; E. S. Stadum 1962-66; R. C. Paulson, 1966-72; R. L. Rierson 1972-79; T. B. Gulhaugen 1979-82 & R. A. Miller 1982-.
