Hoya carnosa 'Madara Green Edge' is a fascinating twist on the classic carnosa, prized for its unpredictable inner variegation and easy-growing nature. Each new leaf emerges with its own unique pattern of creamy white marbling and green speckling through the center, making every plant a one-of-a-kind collector's piece.

• Origin - Hoya carnosa is native to parts of East and Southeast Asia, including China, India, Vietnam, Japan, and surrounding regions. 'Madara Green Edge' is a cultivated variegated selection of Hoya carnosa. 
• Leaves - Thick, succulent leaves feature striking inner variegation with creamy white centers flecked and speckled with green. Unlike standard 'Madara', which typically displays variegation around the leaf margins or scattered across the leaf surface, 'Madara Green Edge' showcases a predominantly green outer edge surrounding a uniquely marbled center. The amount of variegation varies from leaf to leaf, creating an ever-changing display.
• Flowers - Produces clusters of star-shaped, fuzzy flowers typical of Hoya carnosa. Blooms are usually pale pink with darker pink centers and may have a sweet fragrance. Individual flower clusters can last for several weeks when conditions are favorable.
• Growth Rate - Moderate to fast-growing for a variegated Hoya. It generally grows faster than standard Hoya carnosa 'Madara' because its leaves contain more green tissue, allowing for stronger photosynthesis and quicker vine development.
• Watering - Allow the potting mix to dry partially between waterings. Water thoroughly, then let excess moisture drain away. Like most Hoyas, it prefers to be kept slightly on the dry side rather than constantly wet.
• Light - Prefers bright indirect light. For optimal growth and variegation, this plant has performed well approximately 8 inches beneath double Barrina T5 lights for about 14 hours daily.
• Ideal Temperature & Humidity - Thrives around 85°F with humidity levels of approximately 70–75%. It can adapt to typical indoor conditions but will grow most vigorously in warm, humid environments.
• General Hoya Care - Use a chunky, well-draining potting mix, provide bright indirect light, avoid overwatering, and fertilize lightly during active growth.
