The Grove Lake Congregation was organized in 1881 with Ringersaker in Pelican Rapids and Park and Lake Ida in Becker County as sister congregations. Pastor T. Rosholt from North Immanuel presided over the organizational meeting. A joint meeting was held in 1882 in which a decision was made to realign the parish by excluding Park and Ida and joining with Ringsaker in Pelican and Bagstevold in Erhard. In 1883 Pastor Grove was called and served until 1888 when Grove Lake split and E.J. Ovri became Pastor of South Grove Lake and other faction was served by Reverend A. Meland. These two congregations consolidated in 1923 with Pastor H.W. Estrem and A. Meland as pastors. In 1926 a new church was built, using the material from the two old churches. Sunday School was started in 1920 and continues yet today.
