Organized June 15, 1873, by four members, under the leadership of the Rev. I. O. Sloan. Its three houses of worship have occupied the same block since its founding, The first was completed in 1873. The second was completed in 1892, and much remodeled, served the congregation until it was dismantled upon the building of the new sanctuary in 1967. A Christain education building was dedicated in 1958.
