DAZEY METHODIST CHURCH
"In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: And his children shall have a place of refuge"- Proverbs 15. So thought our forefathers who settled here at Dazey, N. Dak. in the territorial days. The little group was determined to have a place of worship as well as a house of learning. For some time funds were not available to build a church, so the school building served as the house of God on Sundays. An itinerant pastor served the people well with very little financial reward. By 1890, under the leadership of Rev. Resseger, they completed their church. The Osborne brothers, with their father, W. H. Osborne, and George Ecker, as well as many others, labored early and late to finish the project. The committee that was in charge of the building was composed of T. L. Hazelett, Andy Pudler, W. H. Osborne and Mrs. John Holliday. A great deal of the labor was donated by the early settlers. The east part of the church building, in the early days, served as living quarters for the minister and his family. In due time the Ladies Aid was organized, and a Sunday School was organized under the supervision of the resident minister. Special thanks are in order to Mrs. W. B. Stowman, Lula Larson and Alma Peterson for their untiring work as leaders and teachers in our church. The present pastor is Rev. William Buffton.
