Calvary United Methodist Church
The old building in which Calvary Church began, was built at 7th and Rosser in 1914 by the Evangelical United
Brethren Church. First EUB Church rebuilt and moved out in 1955. Sometime later the building became the location for a Mission Church of the Dakota Conference (EUB Church). It was organized as a congregation on June 14, 1959, as Second Evangelical United Brethren Church, after being called Calvary EUB Church. Upon the denominational merger in 1968, it became Calvary United Methodist Church.
A New building was constructed at 609 N. 34th St. The first service was held there on January 2, 1983. The old building was then sold and demolished.
Pastors during its 25-year history have been: Robert H. Strutz, 1959-1960; Ira E. Herzberg, 1960-1968; Norman E. Winkelman, 1968-1979; Walter D. Elmer, 1979-1981; Arthur L. Wesley, Jr. 1981-1983; and Gerald A. Fike, 1983-.
