Bethlehem Lutheran Church was organized on September 25, 1874, under the leadership of Dr. C. Evald, with eight families participating.
The congregation has worshiped in three buildings. The present structure, of English gothic design, was completed in 1929. The indebtedness was retired at the occasion of the congregation's seventy-fifth anniversary in 1949.
Five pastors have served Bethlehem in a full-time capacity. They are A. J. Enstam 1884-1892; J. G. Hultkrans 1892-1912; Edward Schuch 1912-1921; Emil Swenson 1923-1943; and Paul H. A. Noren who has been pastor since 1944.
