October 16,2015 Planned Blaze Friday for St. Olaf Lutheran Church Reynolds ND
Firefighters ignited a planned blaze Friday (October 16, 2015) for St. Olaf Lutheran Church, closing the book on 129 years of service by the building to rural parishioners.
The church, which was founded by Lutheran Norwegian immigrants in 1886, closed its doors this summer after the congregation held its final service June 7. Parishioners voted to close the church and merged with its fellow parish at Zion Lutheran Church in Reynolds, a town of 300 residents about 3 miles southwest of St. Olaf.
